When the owner of this self-build home bought the site it was occupied by a dilapidated bungalow.  The brief was to utilise as much of the existing structure as possible but substantially extend up and out to the rear.  The open aspects and distant views of the countryside meant that large areas of glazing were introduced to take advantage of the views and provide a seamless connection with the garden.
